If you’ve decided you want to get breast surgery to achieve the bust you’ve always wanted, you may be wondering what’s the next step. At Mia Aesthetics, we deliver patients with a customizable experience to help give patients the desired results. No patient’s case is the same and will require different methods based on their goals, priorities, and concerns.
Breast Implant Type
Choosing an implant type will be one of the first decisions you’ll have to make once you decide to get a breast augmentation. You will be able to choose between saline and silicone, each of which has its pros and cons. Silicone implants have a more significant risk if ruptured. And saline implants are most customizable but have a higher chance of being visible.
Implant Placement
The implant placement is also a big decision when getting breast augmentation. Your surgeon will help you decide between sub-glandular placement (above muscle wall) and a sub-muscular placement (beneath the muscle wall). Which option is best for you will depend on factors such as the amount of breast tissue the patient has.
Implant Size
Implants come in different sizes to best achieve the breast size that enhances your figure and meets the patient’s desired goals. Whether you’re looking for a more dramatic look or a more natural appearance, there is an implant size for you. You and your surgeon will go over what ideal size is most appropriate for your frame and look best for your body.
Incision Type
There are other options for implant type and implant placement. There are also different types of incisions. Incisions around the areola are ideal for saline implants, incisions under the breast crease are commonly used for silicone implants, and lastly, incisions in the armpit, which is less common but offers more concealed scarring. Like with the other decisions to be made when planning your breast augmentation surgery, all options will be discussed with your surgeon to decide best what would work best for you.
