We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Nia Banks to the Mia Aesthetics Baltimore family. Dr. Nia Banks is a board-certified plastic surgeon serving the Annapolis, Washington, DC, and Baltimore areas. She received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina A&T State University and her Medical Degree and PhD degrees and surgical training from Johns Hopkins. Upon completing her plastic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2008, Dr. Banks became the first African American female to complete the plastic surgery training program at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Banks went on to complete her craniofacial fellowship in Paris, France. She returned to the United States in 2009 to start private practice at the Beaux Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery where she remains on the cutting edge in the field of cosmetic surgery. In 2020, to meet the growing needs of her clients, she opened the Art of Balance Wellness Spa with a business partner to provide wellness therapies, spa experiences and aesthetic treatments.
Dr. Banks is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses course, Chair Emeritus of the Student National Medical Association, and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a commissioner of the Maryland Economic Development Commission, a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and a trustee for Baltimore Center Stage. Dr. Banks recently completed the Associated Black Charities Spring 2023 Board Pipeline Leadership Development Program. She resides in Baltimore, Maryland, with her daughter Amira.
