Dr. Sergio Alvarez, founder of Mia Aesthetics, grew up in El Paso, Texas. After witnessing his first surgery at the age of 10, he was certain that he wanted to become a surgeon one day. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After graduating top of his class, he was chosen to attend a highly ranked residency program at the University of South Florida. He is now one of the top board-certified surgeons in Florida, where he oversees the many procedures performed at Mia Aesthetics with a focus on both affordability and safety.
Dr. Alvarez focused his career on common plastic surgery procedures like liposuction, Brazilian butt lifts (BBLs), tummy tucks, and breast procedures. Doing so allowed him to become proficient in delivering the procedures and results his patients desire.
Perhaps most importantly, he delivers these results at an affordable price, allowing patients to have their surgery domestically where it is often safer to do so. Dr. Alvarez believes deeply that plastic surgery should always be safe, but also affordable and accessible. He feels that everyone who wants plastic surgery should be able to have the body they want—not just the rich and famous. That goal guides his everyday work at the clinic as well as his work with the Mia Foundation.
