Dr. Sean F. Wolfort is a board-certified plastic surgeon joining our Mia Aesthetics clinic in Phoenix. Dr. Wolfort has over 25 years of experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, along with a background in teaching and surgical research. His approach to care begins with getting to know each patient, understanding their individual needs, and giving careful attention to every aspect of their treatment.
Dr. Wolfort earned his bachelor’s degree in physics and philosophy from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from the University of Virginia. He completed general surgery training at Harvard-affiliated hospitals and Johns Hopkins, followed by specialized training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins. He then completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital, both affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wolfort has worked in academic medicine and private practice, including faculty roles at Vanderbilt University and the University of Arizona. He takes time to explain treatment options and values building trust through open communication. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing guitar, a lifelong interest that has also inspired his work caring for musicians with hand and nerve conditions. In addition, just two years ago together with his son he earned a black belt degree in Tae Kwon Do.
