Dr. Val is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons who brings more than a decade of experience to Mia Aesthetics in Atlanta. She has focused on both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery during her years in practice, with a particular interest in breast surgery and body contouring.
She enjoys helping women address changes after pregnancy or weight loss, with an approach that considers each patient’s goals and individual anatomy.
Dr. Val earned her bachelor’s degree with honors from Adelphi University in Long Island NY and her medical degree from Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton Ohio. She completed her general surgery residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY followed by plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. She received extensive training in trauma, microsurgery and breast reconstruction; foundations she continues to build upon in her work today.
Patient education is an important part of Dr. Val’s approach to care. She encourages questions and takes time to help patients understand their options so they can make informed decisions about surgery. Her commitment to education and patient care is why she continues to be one of Atlanta’s Castle Connolly Top Doctors year after year (2019 to 2027).
