Mia Aesthetics is proud to have Board-Certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Talmage Raine. With a notable 30 years in the plastic surgery field, Dr. Raine is excited to bring his expertise to the Mia Aesthetics Chicago team. After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in Biochemistry, Dr. Raine completed his medical school training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following this, he completed his general surgery residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and then completed his plastic surgery residency at Emory University. Dr. Talmage Raine feels fortunate to have worked with and been mentored by so many talented plastic surgeons throughout his journey to becoming the plastic surgeon he is today.

Dr. Raine always knew he wanted to work in the medical field, but it wasn’t until stepping into an operating room that he knew he wanted to become a surgeon. After witnessing the reconstructions of burned children, Dr. Raine realized he wanted to specialize in plastic surgery. His most rewarding time and greatest accomplishment as a plastic surgeon is completing 20 missions repairing children’s facial deformities overseas in the Philippines and throughout Central and South America.

While Dr. Raine has had the opportunity to perform every form of plastic surgery, he particularly enjoys body contouring procedures and facial reconstruction surgeries of the nose, face, and eyes. Dr. Raine is known for being confident in his abilities to help patients feel good about themselves both inside and outside through plastic surgery. For Dr. Raine, being able to change someone’s negative image of themselves is what’s so powerful and transformative about plastic surgery.

When it comes to his philosophy as a plastic surgeon, and in life, Dr. Raine chooses to follow the golden rule- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Dr. Raine views being a plastic surgeon as a big responsibility, and he takes this responsibility very seriously. He likes to treat his patients as he would treat his family and believes trust and respect are critical in a patient and doctor relationship. His goal is to help patients love the body they’re in, and he looks forward to giving patients the body of their dreams.

In his downtime, you can find Dr. Raine reading, farming, tending to his beehives, or binge-watching his favorite show, Ray Donovan. He looks forward to moving back to Chicago’s vast and cosmopolitan city, where he did a lot of his medical training and spent many years of private practice. Dr. Raine was drawn to Mia Aesthetics because he feels the company is dedicated to running a safe, ethical, and efficient program. He always strives to put the patient first and believes Mia Aesthetics does an excellent job of allowing their surgeons to give their patients 100% of their attention.
