What is a Skinny BBL?

A skinny BBL is a specialized Brazilian butt lift designed for leaner individuals with less body fat. As in a traditional BBL, the surgeon extracts donor fat using liposuction and then meticulously injects it into the buttocks to create a more desirable shape. The procedure enhances the buttocks while maintaining a natural look that complements the patient’s slender frame. Because of the limited fat available, achieving the desired results may require a more strategic approach.

How Skinny BBL Surgery Works

Every person is different, so the specific details of every surgery are different as well. Generally, however, a skinny BBL occurs as follows:

  1. You will have a detailed consultation with a surgeon or surgical coordinator to create a fat harvesting plan.
  2. Your care team will prep you for surgery and place you under general anesthesia on the day of surgery.
  3. Liposuction will be performed to harvest fat from areas like the abdomen, flanks, lower back, thighs, and sometimes arms.
  4. The harvested fat will be purified to ensure only the highest quality fat cells are used.
  5. Your surgeon will precisely inject the purified fat into specific buttocks areas to enhance shape, size, and contour using ultrasound technology.
  6. We will monitor you after your procedure until you are ready to go home.

Skinny BBL Weight, BMI, and Other Requirements

There is no minimum weight requirement for a skinny BBL. It matters only that you have adequate fat for harvesting and transfer. In general, a skinny BBL requires that you be or have:

  • A BMI of 25 or less
  • Adequate donor fat
  • Able to maintain a stable weight
  • Good overall health
  • A nonsmoker
  • Realistic expectations
  • Adequate commitment to recovery

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does a Skinny BBL Cost?

At Mia Aesthetics, skinny BBLs start at $4,200. Like all surgeries, however, this one is very personalized. A skinny BBL usually requires harvesting fat from multiple sites and may involve a rather complex surgical plan. The more complicated the plan, the more the procedure will cost. Read more about skinny BBL cost factors and how to make it affordable.

Fortunately, we work with multiple financing companies, each of which offers its own unique monthly payment plan. This means that you can choose the company with the best plan for you and spread the cost of your surgery across a series of affordable monthly payments. Our goal is always to put plastic surgery within financial reach of those who want it.

What Should My Expectations Be?

A skinny BBL can provide you with a subtle enhancement, providing you with a natural look and feel. We don’t inject anything other than your own fat into your buttocks, so there is no need to worry that your new back end will feel at all artificial or unnatural like it can with butt implants. You can trust our skilled surgeons to seamlessly blend your new contours with your existing natural physique for a lean, athletic appearance that matches the rest of you.

A skinny BBL is probably not the right procedure for you if you are looking for a dramatic buttock enhancement. Although the procedure can result in substantial contour improvement, it’s not going to provide a voluptuous rear end with pronounced curves or an exaggerated hourglass figure. You’ll look great after your procedure, but you won’t be leaving the clinic with J. Lo’s booty.

What is Skinny BBL Recovery Like?

The first few days after a skinny BBL can be tricky to navigate. We will give you pain medication to keep you comfortable, but you will likely have drains at the incisions we made to perform liposuction. Because a skinny BBL often requires harvesting fat from multiple donor sites, you may feel a bit sore and uncomfortable in several areas.

Drains are typically removed about a week after surgery, and any pain or discomfort should be easing by then as well. Most patients can return to work two weeks after surgery, but remember that you cannot sit for long periods after a BBL. This means sitting on a special pillow when you do sit and sleeping on your stomach for about four weeks.

You will also need to wear a compression garment after surgery. This helps reduce bruising and swelling. Make peace with this garment early—you will likely have to wear it for six weeks or longer depending on your healing.

We encourage you to get up and start walking as soon as possible after your surgery. You can resume light exercise and activity in about four weeks, but you may have to wait eight weeks or more to resume more strenuous activities.

In six to eight weeks, you will be feeling like yourself again and should start to see your new buttocks take shape. It can take up to a year, however, for your BBL and liposuction results to fully settle in.
