The plastic surgeons at mia Aesthetics are proud to be able to offer the entire line of cutting-edge NATRELLE implants to their patients..

Clearly, as is the case for any cosmetic surgery, the implant patient should be in excellent health, and your mia Aesthetics surgeon will evaluate your health and listen to your aesthetic goals.  Feel free to bring photos to show the doctor what type of breast you’d like to have, and your doctor will listen closely and be able to offer an expert recommend for an implant size and product suited to your physique and your beauty goals.

If a NATRELLE implant is ideal for you, the consultation is your opportunity to evaluate the many options in size and fullness that this product offers, from saline to gel to silicone-filled — from implants that offer increased fullness to classic fullness to shaped fullness.  Some of the implants — like the Natrelle 410 Shaped Gel Breast Implant in Miami Florida, for example — are available in multiple heights, widths, and projections to give you the shaped look that’s exactly right for you.  That’s right, different round sizes. Tear-drop shapes. “Gummy” implants. Fullness levels that range from low to high.  This is not a one-implant-fits-all situation. This is artistic precision.

The infinitely customizable nature of the Natrelle implants make them ideal for cutting-edge plastic surgeons seeking to give their patients a precise result that produces exactly what they wanted out of breast surgery.  This is why it’s the choice in breast implants for the surgeons at mia Aesthetics, who pride themselves on listening to their patients and applying their expertise and the latest technology to truly achieve what their patients want out of cosmetic surgery.

Ideal Candidates

Good candidates for receiving Natrelle breast implants are healthy women over the age of 18 (or 22 for those considering silicone implants) who have fully developed breasts (in the case of augmentations) and are dissatisfied by their bust shape, size, or symmetry. Women with aging breasts may also undergo augmentation, often in conjunction with a breast lift.  Natrelle implants also work well for breast revisions or breast reconstruction surgery. Natrelle 133 Tissue Expanders are approved for breast reconstruction following mastectomy, treatment of underdeveloped breasts and treatment of soft tissue deformities.

Patients should be non-smokers, in good health, and understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. Patients should not only be physically healthy, but also have healthy expectations for the outcome of the surgery. Our Medical Director Dr. Sergio Alvarez will help you understand what is reasonable if you are unsure and make himself available to answer your questions and concerns.

Natrelle breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia, which will be discussed prior to surgery.

There are several breast augmentation techniques due to the differences in implant types and other factors. First, incisions will be made either around the areola (skin surrounding the nipple), underneath the breast (in the crease), or through the armpit. Each incision site is designed to minimize visible scarring.

Once the incision is made, the implant will be placed. This will be either over or under the chest muscles, and this is another aspect of surgery that you will discuss with your surgeon prior to the operation. Once the implants are in place, the incisions will be closed with sutures and/or tape. The procedure usually takes about 1-3 hours to complete.

After the breast implant surgery, patients need to take a few days off from work, more if the occupation involves strenuous activity. Following the procedure, patients may be fitted with compression or support garments to help with healing and reduce swelling.

During the first few weeks, patients will need to refrain from lifting heavy objects or children and strictly follow surgeon guidelines for incision care and resuming everyday activities. This will help speed along a successful recovery. Patients will need to avoid strenuous exercise for several weeks as tissues heal, and you can expect swelling and soreness for at least a month or two.

Choosing the Right Surgeon

In addition to performing your surgery, your mia Aesthetics surgeon will be your advisor and resource for any questions or concerns before and after surgery. It is vital you choose a highly qualified doctor you can trust to listen, take you seriously, and help you have the experience you want.

Medical Director Sergio Alvarez takes pride in leading mia Aesthetics in its dual mission of providing individually-tailored care and using the best medical technology the 21st century has to offer.  With breast implants as customizable as Natrelle, it’s all about combining the great tools with great artistry to achieve your vision of beauty, safely and successfully.  You need a board-certified plastic surgeon who is skilled, artistic, and attuned to your vision. Ultimately, the most important factor in selecting a surgeon for breast augmentation is not the brand of the implant, but the care, expertise, education and talent of the plastic surgeon performing the procedure.

Be sure to do extensive research before you speak with potential surgeons.  It’s a good idea to consult with several candidates before you make a decision about who will perform your surgery.  Don’t be shy about asking questions. It’s your body and your health. And we’re glad you’re here.

What should I know before getting breast implants?

Breast implants are not lifetime devices and not necessarily a one-time surgery.  Once you’ve had implants put in, many of the changes to your breasts cannot be undone. If you later choose to have your implants removed and not replaced, you may experience dimpling, puckering, wrinkling, or other cosmetic changes of the breast which could be permanent.

What are some complications with breast implants?

Key complications are re-operation, implant removal with or without replacement, implant rupture, and severe capsular contracture (scar tissue around the implant). Other complications include asymmetry, nipple/breast/skin sensation changes, scarring or wrinkling/rippling. Talk to your doctor about other complications or any concerns you may have.

Does my lupus disqualify me from getting breast implants?

No, it doesn’t disqualify you but the risks of breast implant surgery may be higher for you as they are for anyone with an autoimmune disease or weakened immune system. Discuss this with your doctor to see what you can do to help minimize any risk.

Will I be able to breastfeed in the future despite having implants?

The fact is breast implants may affect your ability to breastfeed, either by reducing or eliminating milk production. But it may not.  Many women breastfeed after breast surgery with no trouble. There is no way to know what your outcome will be, but if breastfeeding in the future is important to you, discuss it with your doctor.
