UPDATE #2
4/19 - Ok I am putting this out there as I had previously recommended others to Mia who experienced no issues and their process was fluid. My situation was apparently not as typical as others. Let me just say I had several issues in the past due to severe Covid and continued issues related to it. My doctors did clear me as I have not had any problems for over 2 years, but there was obviously a disconnect somewhere regarding what I submitted and what was required. I spoke to someone today who was extremely understanding and helpful in my particular situation, apologized for all the I had to go through in this process and rectified the situation. He certainly reinstated my faith in people to do the right thing. After speaking to him I will reconsider Mia in the future (maybe at a different location)
Thank you Michael for all of your help and understanding. You deserve 5 stars in how you handled my situation, so this rating is based on your response.
4/18 - UPDATE - I am following up on my previously posted review. To say that I am disappointed is a grave understatement. I would not recommend anyone to go here. This place cancelled my surgery - not anything I did or did not do - and refuses to refund my booking fee. I did everything they requested and even at the last minute they asked me about tests that were done weeks prior. I received clearance from my PCP and my cardiologist, who I see every year routinely, and they both sent letters, but apparently that was not enough. Also, when I wrote the first review I for a response saying to email them, which I did, but it took weeks for them to respond to my reply. It makes you have little faith in people to have integrity, and that’s what this place lacks. Is a losing a booking fee that important that you cannot make this right??? Do the right thing.
I am extremely disappointed in the process and will not reschedule here again. My surgery was scheduled for 3/20 and I did absolutely everything that was requested of me. I took 5 days off work to recover, had someone take off work to take me home after the surgery and for the post op visit but yet 4 days before the procedure I was told that my surgery was cancelled because labs weren’t received. I was recently made aware that it takes 3 business days for faxed documents to be received, but I was told that the lab would be looking out for them and they were escalated to be reviewed. I called numerous times and told them I could not recoup the time that I took off, so I needed the procedure done as scheduled. I not only sent records from my PCP but also went to my cardiologist who both cleared me for the procedure. I can appreciate the fact that they want to make sure that they are not held liable should an issue arise BUT if I was cleared by my doctors I don’t understand what the issue is. I was asked again to address specific issues that I am no longer dealing with. Additionally, the surgery date came and passed and NO ONE reached out. After a week (which is today) I called and was told I need more documentation from my doctor. The person I spoke to initially told me that I needed a chest xray which was done over a month prior and a clearance letter sent from his office. I believe it magically appeared after I told her it was already done. I called again and requested a refund and was told that “per the contract” the deposit is nonrefundable. I beg to differ. If Mia Aesthetics did not hold up their end of the contract and caused me to lose time, money and peace of mind, someone needs to make it right immediately. I’m not going to say don’t go here - the concierge staff was very nice but as I believe they were unprofessional and non responsive with my requests, I need to be issued a refund.
